INTEGRATIVE COACHING AGREEMENT & CODE OF ETHICS
This document outlines the scope of practice, expectations, responsibilities, and ethical boundaries of integrative coaching services provided by Crystal. It is intended to create clarity, mutual understanding, and informed consent prior to engaging in coaching sessions.
NATURE OF COACHING
Coaching is a collaborative, reflective, and inquiry-based process focused on self-awareness, perspective, integration of experience, and self-directed movement. Coaching may include conversation, reflection, guided inquiry, grounding practices, breathwork, stillness-based practices, energy-based work (such as Reiki), and other supportive tools when appropriate.
Coaching is not therapy, counseling, medical treatment, or mental health care. Coaching does not diagnose, treat, or cure any medical or psychological condition.
SCOPE OF PRACTICE
Coaching may support clients in areas including, but not limited to:
Emotional experiences and self-reflection
Life transitions and periods of change
Clarifying needs, values, and direction
Processing and integrating experiences
Perspective shifts and limiting beliefs
Developing self-trust and self-direction
Human Design may be incorporated selectively and contextually, typically at the client’s request, to explore specific themes or areas of life. Full Human Design chart readings are not included in coaching sessions unless explicitly offered and agreed upon separately.
WHAT COACHING IS NOT
Coaching is not:
Psychotherapy or counseling
Medical or mental health treatment
Trauma treatment
Crisis intervention
A substitute for licensed healthcare, mental health, or medical professionals
If a client has a medical condition, mental health condition, or is experiencing significant psychological distress, it is the client’s responsibility to seek appropriate professional support alongside coaching.
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
The client agrees to:
Take full responsibility for their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being
Communicate honestly and openly during sessions
Set and communicate boundaries, pacing, and needs
Engage with their experience at their own pace
Decide what resonates and what does not
Take or release any guidance, reflections, or suggestions offered
The client understands that coaching does not provide guaranteed outcomes and that results depend on their engagement, choices, and actions.
COACH RESPONSIBILITIES
The coach agrees to:
Provide a respectful, non-judgmental, and confidential coaching environment
Practice within the stated scope of coaching
Offer reflection, inquiry, and guidance aligned with the coaching agreement
Respect client autonomy, boundaries, and self-direction
Refer clients to appropriate professionals when needs fall outside the scope of coaching
GUIDANCE, SUGGESTIONS, AND ADVICE
Any reflections, guidance, practices, or suggestions offered during coaching are presented as optional and exploratory. The client retains full discretion to apply, modify, or disregard any information shared.
The coach is not responsible for how the client interprets or applies guidance offered during or between sessions.
BETWEEN-SESSION COMMUNICATION
Limited support via email, text, or phone may be available between sessions for brief logistical questions or simple clarifications. This support is not intended for ongoing coaching, emotional processing, crisis support, or in-depth discussion outside scheduled sessions.
Response times are not guaranteed and communication outside sessions may be limited.
CONFIDENTIALITY
All coaching conversations are confidential, except where disclosure is required by law, including but not limited to:
Risk of harm to self or others
Suspected abuse of a minor, elder, or dependent person
Legal requirements or court orders
BOUNDARIES AND ETHICS
The coaching relationship is strictly professional. Any form of sexual, romantic, or inappropriate conduct is prohibited.
The coach commits to practicing with integrity, respect, consent, and client-centered care.
LIABILITY AND RELEASE
The client acknowledges that coaching involves personal reflection and decision-making. The client agrees to release and hold harmless the coach from any liability for decisions, actions, or outcomes resulting from coaching sessions.
The client understands that they are solely responsible for their choices, actions, and results.
TERMINATION OF COACHING
Either the client or the coach may terminate the coaching relationship at any time. Coaching may be discontinued if the coach determines that the client’s needs exceed the scope of coaching or if the coaching relationship is no longer appropriate.
GOVERNING LAW
This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the state in which the coach practices, without regard to conflict of law principles.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT
By engaging in coaching services, the client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Coaching Agreement and Code of Ethics.
Reiki Practitioner Code of Ethics
1. Scope of Practice
I acknowledge that Reiki is a complementary, non-medical, non-psychotherapeutic practice.
Reiki is offered for relaxation, stress reduction, energetic support, and personal well-being.
I do not diagnose, prescribe, treat medical or mental health conditions, or replace licensed healthcare providers.
I encourage clients to seek appropriate medical, psychological, or professional care when needed.
2. Informed Consent
I clearly explain what Reiki is and what it is not before beginning sessions.
Clients participate voluntarily and may decline or stop a session at any time.
Consent is obtained prior to all sessions, including consent for:
Physical proximity or touch (if applicable)
Distance Reiki
Any changes in session format
For minors, written consent from a parent or legal guardian is required, and boundaries are clearly defined.
3. Client Autonomy & Empowerment
I honor each client’s autonomy, agency, and personal authority.
Reiki is offered as support, not as a solution imposed on the client.
I do not encourage dependency on Reiki or on myself as a practitioner.
I respect each client’s right to make their own decisions about their health, beliefs, and life direction.
4. Professional Boundaries
I maintain clear, appropriate, and ethical boundaries at all times.
I do not engage in:
Sexual or romantic relationships with current clients
Dual relationships that could impair judgment or safety
Touch (if used) is non-invasive, respectful, and consensual.
I do not exploit the practitioner–client relationship for personal, emotional, or financial gain.
5. Confidentiality
All client information is kept private and confidential, except when disclosure is required by law (e.g., harm to self or others, abuse reporting).
Client experiences, emotions, or session content are not shared without explicit permission.
Records are stored securely and responsibly.
6. Trauma-Informed & Ethical Presence
I practice Reiki in a trauma-aware, non-coercive manner.
I do not pressure clients to process emotions, memories, or experiences.
I recognize signs of overwhelm or dissociation and adjust sessions accordingly.
I refer clients to licensed professionals when issues arise beyond my scope.
7. Non-Judgment & Inclusivity
I offer Reiki without discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, ability, age, or background.
I respect diverse belief systems and do not impose spiritual, religious, or metaphysical interpretations.
Clients are free to interpret their Reiki experience in their own way.
8. Integrity & Honesty
I represent my training, experience, and credentials truthfully.
I do not make guarantees or claims of healing outcomes.
I avoid exaggerated, misleading, or fear-based language.
I acknowledge the limits of my knowledge and practice.
9. Energy Awareness & Self-Responsibility
I take responsibility for my own energetic hygiene, grounding, and self-care.
I refrain from practicing when emotionally or physically impaired.
I do not claim authority over a client’s energy, karma, or life path.
Reiki is offered as a collaborative, supportive process, not control.
10. Cultural & Spiritual Respect
I acknowledge Reiki’s Japanese origins and practice with cultural respect.
I do not appropriate, misrepresent, or commodify spiritual traditions.
I avoid presenting Reiki as the “only” or “superior” spiritual path.
11. Financial Ethics
Fees are communicated clearly in advance.
No pressure is applied to purchase additional sessions or services.
Sliding scale or accessibility options are offered transparently when applicable.
I do not use fear, guilt, or spiritual pressure to influence financial decisions.
12. Continuing Education & Growth
I commit to ongoing learning, self-reflection, and professional development.
I stay informed about ethical standards, best practices, and emerging concerns.
I seek supervision, mentorship, or consultation when appropriate.
13. Distance & Remote Reiki Ethics
Distance Reiki is offered only with explicit consent.
I do not send Reiki to others without permission, except in emergency prayer contexts that are clearly stated as intention only.
Boundaries around time, intention, and consent are respected.
14. Referral & Collaboration
I collaborate respectfully with other practitioners and healthcare professionals.
I refer clients when their needs exceed my scope or competence.
I do not discourage clients from seeking medical or psychological care.
15. Commitment to Do No Harm
My primary ethical commitment is to do no harm.
I prioritize safety, dignity, and respect in all interactions.
If harm occurs unintentionally, I take responsibility, reflect, and address it appropriately.
Ethical Statement
I commit to practicing Reiki with integrity, humility, respect, and care.
My role is to support—not to fix, control, or define—the healing journey of another.
